About Harold Sims (1912-2002)
A watercolor painter, Harold H. (Hal) Sims focuses on American scenery and wildlife.
Sims was raised in the deep south, near Montgomery, Alabama, and has traveled widely. He served until 1969 in the United States Air Force and then devoted the next thirty years to painting. He died in 2002 in San Antonio, Texas, where he lived after his retirement and painted until six months before his death.
Hal Sims has had one-man shows at the Gallery Allard, Paris, France; Rockefeller Center, New York; and the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts in Texas.
